FISHING BRITISH COLUMBIA
2003
CRYOTECH, supplier of runway and aircraft deicing fluids to airports and airlines, conducted meetings over a three-day trip, meeting at the Vancouver International Airport, flying in a Shorts 360 to Campbell River, and enjoying salmon fishing out of PAINTERS LODGE via Boston Whalers with guides on the open water.  A photographic journal of the 2003 trip appears below.
The early birds meet at the Flying Beaver Bar & Grill to break the ice and watch seaplanes land

THEN . . . It’s off via Pacific Coastal Shorts 360 to Campbell River

The fishermen, on arrival at Painter’s Lodge:

(Notice the lack of sunburn on all these guys)

No one is sunburned yet and the ice isn’t quite broken for all . . .  But, after a couple, we hit the dock for our first fishing adventure: 4 hours, from 3:00 to 7:00 pm

Peter gets the guide assignments and we all head out to fish the first day!

Spanky, our guide extraordinaire, was always in a good mood

Nothing like getting off on the right track . . .

AND, nothing like catching your first salmon

Here’s some of the first-day victors . . .

And then it was a meeting at the bar after our first outing to discuss the day’s catches . . .  Just how big were those fish, anyway?

Then, we move out on the veranda for more drinks and a fisherman’s toast . . .

Then, it was back to the rooms to get ready for dinner
