FISHING IN BRITISH COLUMBIA, 2002CRYOTECH, supplier of runway and aircraft deicing fluids to airports and airlines, conducted meetings over a three-day trip, meeting at the Vancouver International Airport, flying in a Shorts 360 to Campbell River, and enjoying salmon fishing out of PAINTERS LODGE via Boston Whalers with guides on the open water.  A photographic journal of the 2002 trip appears below.
How big a fish will we catch?

               Heading out at dawn
We started our day at the bait shop

Do we really want to be up this early?
It was a blue morning;  blue water, blue sky

Peter Haug, our host fishing really hard

Ron Whipple & Mike Chaput with Spanky

  Mike going for his fish

Mike couldn’t resist showing off his fish

Nigel Westlake, fighting a big one

  Nigel was a happy fisherman

A crowd gathers when the boats return

  The all-important weigh-in

I’d like you to meet someone. . .

Jeff Walsh with only one of many

Jeff Walsh with his other beauties

Nearly all of us were lucky, I mean skilled!

Some of us came in later than others

Low tide near noon.  Some of us got in early.

A water taxi to April Point for dinner

From the taxi to the restaurant

The menu was extensive and exquisite!

And the sunset was gorgeous

Sir Jack Lampe, George Thorne and Doug Steinke; some more sunburned than others. . .but most with a fish story to tell at the bar.

Ron Whipple and RK Moore tellin’ tales
